The Link Between Weight Gain and Chronic Pain | Los Angeles Hypnotherapist Chris Harris

Unfortunately chronic pain is something that many people face at some point in their lives. But when persistent pain causes us to become less-active this can lead to weight gain – Which usually makes the pain worse. This forms a “loop” where the problem often gets progressively worse as time goes on. But as a hypnotherapist I have found that both issues can be approached simultaneously with positive results for the client. Talk to your doctor to see if hypnotherapy might be a good adjunct therapy for you, if it is visit http://www.PainManagementHypnosis.com to download four FREE audio recordings. It is my gift to you – I hope it helps!

Sugar: It’s Not So Sweet After All (but Hypnosis can help!)

Image
In today’s society sweet sugary treats and beverages are everywhere – but for many people this is seriously impacting their health in a negative way because they just can’t stop eating so much sugar. Does this sound like you? Do you ever wonder if your sugar cravings might actually be a full-fledged addiction? The truth is that if you are having a challenging time regulating your sugar consumption you are not alone. But hypnosis can help! Here’s how:

Think about it like this – When we are born everything is neutral, neither good nor bad. But as you go through life you receive programming from the outside world that determines everything about you. Say for example that we eat chocolate, and it tastes good, well then your mind learns that chocolate is “positive”. But when we eat broccoli something different happens for many of us. We don’t like the taste so broccoli so we learn that it is “negative”. So if we are later given a choice between chocolate (which is good) or broccoli (which is bad) we will usually choose chocolate every time. It really isn’t a “choice” if you think about it! The choice has already been made! We also have many emotional attachments to the “positive” or “negative” associations with certain foods: What happens if you were raised in a household in which you get spankings if you refuse to eat that broccoli? It becomes more of a “bad” thing. And if you receive chocolate as a reward for doing good things chocolate becomes even more positive because now it is associated with love, comfort, acceptance, and so forth. In this way you become programmed to prefer sugary foods and dislike healthier foods. All of us have some programming around food – Can you think of any that you have that you would like to change? Do you have to finish everything on your plate? Do you eat too much candy, sodas, or junk food? Is chocolate or other sugary food associated with feelings of love, comfort, family, fond memories, etc?

Hypnosis can be a very effective way to help you manage your sugar intake, whether your goal is just to cut back the amount of sugar that you eat to a healthier amount or to eliminate it from your diet completely. Hypnosis has helped people all over the world to lose weight and/or maintain an ideal body weight. You can take control and say goodbye to those sodas, chocolates, candies, and other sweet treats. Hypnotherapy can help you to rewrite the programming in your mind. I urge you to give hypnosis a try – If you would like to learn more about how hypnosis can help YOU just pick up the phone and call 424-27-THINK (424-278-4465).
